From foundry to photovoltaic panel factory

There are companies that follow the market and companies that choose to build it. TORRI belongs to this second category: an Italian industrial reality deeply rooted in the manufacturing tradition and today a national leader in the design and production of safe and long-lasting photovoltaic panels.

The company's history begins with Michele Torri, a member of the third generation of entrepreneurs in the TORRI family and heir to an industrial culture developed within the historic Quinzano foundry, TORRI FONDERIE. A heritage of expertise in metalworking, precision mechanics and product culture that still represents the company's DNA today.

It is precisely this approach, typical of the best Italian manufacturing companies, that has led TORRI to tackle the photovoltaic sector with a completely different approach from simple imports from Asia. Since 2007 the company has constantly invested in research and development with a precise goal: to create photovoltaic panels capable of guaranteeing robustness, safety and longevity well beyond market standards.

Among these, PRISMA 4.0 stands out, the construction model that expresses TORRI's engineering approach to making the photovoltaic panel. The use of selected materials and proprietary production processes makes it possible to obtain an extremely robust structure, designed to offer greater resistance to mechanical stress, extreme weather events and the critical issues that can compromise the system's useful life.

The proprietary technologies Made in Brescia

2026 represents a further turning point in the company's history. At Intersolar Europe, TORRI presented X-CORE² to the European public, the new proprietary technology protected by an industrial patent, design and three-dimensional trademark, developed to address one of the main critical issues of modern photovoltaics: the structural fragility of panels.

The heart of the technology is a special engineered frame with a polymer insert, capable of generating the so-called “slab effect” and redistributing mechanical stresses across the entire panel surface. The results achieved during development are particularly significant: over 75% reduction of the concentrated load and a load-redistribution capacity five times higher than a traditional frame.

In practical terms, the load exerted by a 90 kg installer drops from 1.13 kg/cm² to just 0.255 kg/cm², drastically reducing the risk of microfractures in the silicon cells throughout the photovoltaic system's entire life cycle.

The market's response was immediate. Installers, designers, EPCs and operators from all over Europe recognised in the new technology a concrete answer to the growing demand for reliability, safety and long-term performance. In parallel, the TORRI Partner Project also grew, the network of qualified professionals made up of installers and design firms who choose every day to represent the brand in the field.

The turnkey systems division

Driving the company's growth is also the division dedicated to building turnkey photovoltaic systems. TORRI offers the end customer a complete service, from design to system construction, relying on a specialised in-house team of professionals and installers and on its network of qualified partners.

For TORRI, the future of photovoltaics cannot be separated from a deeply manufacturing vision, linked to European industrial culture: developing proprietary technologies and producing safe, reliable and durable goods in Europe.
